We’ve started the new year with a bang with the launch of not one, but two exciting new showhomes at our Balgillo Heights development in Broughty Ferry.

We were delighted to have Justine Winter from Orchid Newton design the interiors of these new showhomes. With her incredible creative vision, both of our beautiful showhomes have been brought to life and finished impeccably.
The 4 bedroom detached Marr
For a lifestyle that is centred around family, The Marr offers an idyllic setting with 4 incredibly spacious bedrooms, including a deluxe master suite, and a large open-plan living area on the ground floor. Its vast amount of space and versatile layout provides a beautiful family home that is adaptable for the years to come.
When choosing the interiors of the Marr, Justine said; “I saw the Marr as a very glamorous, party house but still very much a family home. There’s so much space and light which makes it very easy to style, and the fabulous open-plan kitchen and family area lends itself well to entertaining, whether that’s for adults or children. I fell in love with making it glamorous and funky.
“To create the look, I took inspiration from the iconic 1900s Italian artist, Fornasetti. You can see little glimpses of his most recognised print of the woman’s face throughout the house, which makes it feel very classic and reflects the idea that the woman is at the head and heart of the family home.
“In keeping with the classic and luxurious feel, I chose cream and black for a colour palette, with accents of gold and orange to add a bit of warmth and make the house feel very cosy and inviting for the family coming home to every day and for guests visiting.
“My vision for the family living here was very much a ‘work hard, play hard’ family. They’re all ambitious, with big dreams and they love entertaining and having friends round. There’s a free-standing drinks cabinet and a gorgeous chandelier in the living room above the dining table, which I absolutely loved choosing.
“Although the interiors are very classy, it’s very much a family home. The kids’ rooms are very fun with a little girl’s bedroom based on her obsession for zebras, and a boy’s room with an astronaut theme. There’s a WC at the back door which would be great for when the kids are out playing in the garden and there’s a double garage with a door straight into the utility room. The layout is very practical and well thought out for modern family life.
“The Marr is a very spacious, statement home and I wanted the interiors to reflect that with a very glamorous and modern look that’s memorable. But at the same time, it’s still a warm and cosy family home. As soon as you walk through the door you feel welcomed.”
The 3 bedroom detached Craig
The Craig is our most popular 3 bedroom home, and it’s easy to see why. With a large open-plan kitchen area, it boasts versatility and space, offering the perfect layout for entertaining guests and modern family life. Each of The Craig’s incredible 3 bedrooms have built-in wardrobes, and you’ll find a luxurious en-suite bathroom joined onto the master bedroom.
For the interiors, Justine chose a beach theme for The Craig, that was reflective of the coastal setting of Broughty Ferry.
She said: “After visiting Broughty Ferry, I decided that I wanted to give The Craig a New England feel and a nod to the seaside throughout the interiors. I added the famous lighthouse to the theme for something a bit fun and different, and incorporated shades of blue, white wash and red stripes.
“In the furniture you can see wicker, rope and wood to bring the seaside theme to life. It’s very comfortable and relaxed but also a bit quirky, which goes well with the development’s setting in Broughty Ferry.
“The house is very fun and cheerful, it feels like somewhere you can come home to and relax. I particularly love the en-suite bathroom in the master bedroom - it’s so luxurious with the bath under the window. It feels like a hotel bathroom and it’s just a great space to get away from it all after a stressful day.
“Some of my favourite elements are the sea urchin wallpaper in the dining area - I think it’s so beautiful and a bit different. I also love the hallway because it’s lovely and spacious with a lot of light coming in. I added a wicker chair, a lamp and a table to make it easy for putting shoes on at the door and to give it a homely feel as soon as you walk in.
“The Craig is a very welcoming house and it caters for everyone, whether it’s a young couple, a small family, or downsizers. It’s very happy and homely, but luxury certainly hasn’t been forgotten about - The Craig is a house that you come into and instantly feel special.”
