“We were living in Broughty Ferry already in a 3 bedroom home, just 5 minutes away from the Kirkwood Homes development. Although the house was a decent size, we knew we needed extra space - my husband Billy works from home a lot, which meant he was constantly using the dining room.

“The twins are 10 now, so we also knew that pretty soon we will have two teenagers - which is basically 4 adults living in the house. Kids nowadays don’t seem to leave home as early as our generation, so we felt we really needed to think to the future as well as the present and find a house that would work for us as a family in terms of space.”

“Probably the kitchen and family area. We just love sitting and hanging out there! The living room barely gets used because we’re always in that part of the house. It just feels really modern and homely.

“The schools here are great and there are lovely places to walk nearby as well. We’ve got the beach, or sometimes we go for a walk in the country with the kids as it’s right on your doorstep.”

“Balgillo Heights just ticked all the boxes for us. The development itself felt spacious and it was just off the main road - so it's in a great location.

“We knew that as time went on, it would only become more difficult to buy a house in The Ferry with a location that’s still so close to amenities and the school for our kids. All future developments will be further and further away, so Balgillo was perfect timing for us as a family - it was our chance to buy a quality new home to suit our needs, right where we needed it to be.

“We were the first people to move into the Balgillo Heights development - both ourselves and our neighbours moved in over the same weekend, which felt really exciting. We get on really well with our neighbours which is so nice!”

“We were really impressed with them. When buying a new build, you’re also trying to sell your other house and a lot of people can feel the pressure. But Kirkwood weren’t pushy at all. We were struggling to sell our house and they were quite supportive actually.

“They had such a range of choices for kitchen doors, worktops and tiles - and that was appealing to us. You get a lot for your money - for example the integrated fridge freezer, which other homebuilders maybe don’t offer.

“Overall, the whole process was really smooth and totally relaxed. We didn’t feel under pressure at any point, which made such a big difference to our experience!”
