COVID-19: a message from our Managing Director

To all Kirkwood Homes customers,

As we, along with the rest of the world face the ongoing, unprecedented challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic brings, our priority has always been to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our employees, customers, subcontractors and suppliers. Given the new guidelines introduced by both the UK and Scottish Governments, we have implemented further policies and procedures, which I have set out below.

Kirkwood Homes customers due to imminently take occupation of their new Kirkwood home

We understand that these are uncertain times, but Kirkwood Homes is committed to trying to ensure that you can move into your new Kirkwood Home. 

All homes that are due for handover for this week have the appropriate certifications and certificates, which allow you to move into your brand new home as soon as you want and we would encourage you to contact your solicitor as early as possible to try and facilitate this. 

The demonstration and handover will now unfortunately only be carried out by the relevant Site Manager and we would ask that this handover process is carried out by only one person and that the appropriate social distancing measures are observed. However we remain on hand to answer any queries / questions that you may have regarding your new home and the operation of it through the contact options that are detailed later within this communication.

We know that you have been looking forward to getting the keys to your new Kirkwood homes and we want to make sure that we can do this for you, so we would urge you to get in touch with your Sales Consultant as early as possible regarding this.

Kirkwood Homes remains open for business to new and existing customers

Whilst our sales centres and our showhomes have now been closed, we remain very much open for business through our website www.kirkwoodhomes.co.uk and through our dedicated sales team who can be contacted on 07850 449884 or 01330 833595. They remain on hand to support you and assist you.

We are working on new and innovative ways to support and remain in contact with you during these challenging times, which includes offering telephone and video appointments for registering your interest, reserving your new Kirkwood home and the excitement that is involved in personalising your new home.

We encourage you to visit our website, which details current availability, pricing as well virtual tours of our showhomes, downloadable brochures and an extensive photographic library of our stunning, luxury homes.

Customers who have bought a Kirkwood home and due to move in within the next six months

If you are a customer who has recently reserved a Kirkwood home or one who is due to move into one of our new homes within the next six months, we will endeavour to keep in touch with you regarding the impact that this fluid and dynamic event is having on your potential date of entry. As of tonight, construction works on our development sites have effectively ceased and we do not know when works will recommence.

Unfortunately as result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are unable to give any further information regarding completion dates as we do not know how long our construction operations will be suspended. 

Our sales team will, however, continue to be in touch to update you accordingly and where choices and extras haven’t yet been chosen we will use this time to ensure they are completed to allow us to recommence construction works as quickly and effectively as possible when works are permitted.

Customers already living in a Kirkwood home

I would like to take this opportunity to reiterate my previous communication. We have always strived to provide the highest levels of customer service, however due to the unprecedented circumstances we are unfortunately faced with at this time, we are unable for the health, safety and wellbeing of our employees and customers, to undertake periodic or planned maintenance and, as previously advised, this has been suspended until further notice.

Emergency contact numbers are included within all handover files and they should be contacted for emergency maintenance issues only, the classification of which are also detailed within the aforementioned files.

I fully appreciate how frustrating this may be but please be assured that once able and permitted, we will ensure that all works that may be required will be undertaken, however, we would ask for your patience with regards to this.

I would like to end by wishing you, your family, our subcontractors and suppliers good health, and on behalf of all the Kirkwood Homes team, I look forward to welcoming you back to our showhomes and developments when appropriate.
